“Great moments are born from great opportunities..
And that’s what you have here tonight, boys…”
This is a great speech from a movie that I like, called “Miracle.”
It’s about the 1980 Winter Olympics U.S. hockey team. It was a team made up of college players, and they went on to beat the professional Soviet team during the Olympics. The U.S. Team went on to win the gold.
The Soviet team was known as the best in the world.
Fast.
Experienced.
Tough.
The Soviets were feared, and not just on the ice.
This was during the Cold War when the USSR had been showing up the US all over the globe. And rubbing our faces in it.
Anyway, this speech was from the “pep talk” pre-game speech that Coach Brooks gave to his players before they played the Soviet team:
“Great moments are born from great opportunities..
And that’s what you have here tonight, boys…”
Al Michaels, a great announcer that you can hear every Sunday night on NBC’s NFL game, was actually the play-by-play announcer for that US-Soviet hockey game.
His famous line, “Do you believe in miracles?” is one of the most memorable in broadcast history.
And the hockey game fired up Americans when they were suffering the “malaise” of the late 1970s.
When I need motivation, I cue up the Youtube video of that speech from the movie. It gets me fired up.
It also reminds me of the enormous opportunities for you in this “money game” of the US energy boom.
We are in the midst of an enormous economic “gold rush,” when you consider the amount oil that is now being produced from under our feet.
It is also just the beginning, as I truly think the US will become major oil EXPORTER in the next few years.
We have always had some tremendous oil resources that we knew about, but no easy way to “get ’em.”
Now, we can access these resources through drilling procedures like horizontal drilling paired with hydraulic fracturing.
I was so fired up about this boom that I quit my “safe and secure” job with the power company, and bought a small lab testing frac sand. An underdog of labs.
This lab has given me glimpses into the industry I never would have found before.
I’ve stepped “behind the curtain,” if you will.
Now I’m about ready to unleash this knowledge on ways to make money in the US oil boom, through a podcast.
The podcast will be called “US Oil Boom,” and found on all the major podcast outlets like iTunes.
I’ll be interviewing power players in the industry, introducing everyone to the enormous opportunities that now exist, for those of us that have initiative.
Those of us that have the “stones” and “cajones” to charge into this boom.
Sure, we will have some defeats, and disappointments.
But, it’s a great opportunity. And I am making my moment in it.
