Very recently, a friend of mine opened my eyes to something interesting in the retail world around me, that I hadn’t noticed before: tetrahedron packaging
A company called Tetra Pak has been doing this type of packaging for many years, and they also do packaging in more traditional shapes likes boxes and prisms.
And, what’s more, they can package all types of products!
You can package anything in a tetrahedron from chicken broth to juice to milk.
I started to think of all their packaging, and also all the different sizes of boxes that Amazon sends every day, and the enormous variety of products and package types that are moving around the country and world in semi-truck trailers and train cars!
It made me think about the various types of sand products there are now …
… sand for aggregate and concrete …
… sand for glass making …
… frac sand in various sizes, including 40/70 and 70/140 mesh sizes …
… and now “microproppants” which center around 200 mesh and 325 mesh!
There truly are a great number of possible products that can be made from the same sand! Of course, it is dependent on the size, strength, and purity of the sand.
