Bring in the cavalry

Good Monday to you,

So, the word out of Washington D.C. Is that the Obama admin is going to bring in the “cavalry of geeks.”

Yep, the healthcare websites have been such a failure that they are getting the best programmers in the country to show up and code.

Apparently millions of lines of code have problems.

And, we (the quiet taxpayers) already spent like $640 million on the project.

So, we need to drop just a wee bit more in programmer time to get the job done right.

Isn’t that how life is?

I know I’ve been guilty of it.

Well, no, I’ve never spent $643 million of your tax dollars to build a program that didn’t work well.

What I’m getting at is that sometimes we make short term decisions that don’t make sense in the long term.

So, it makes sense to do things right the first time.

Even if it costs a little more.

“It’s either money or time,” the wise man said.

I have these clients right now. They are exploring a large area where the sand varies in and out of frac sand quality.

Some of the sand is of superior quality. But it is a distance from the road.

Some of the sand is poorer quality, but the logistics work better.

So these fine gents are on basically a “trial and error” method of exploration, where they send samples, hoping the quality is good enough to be frac sand, but not too far from the road and infrastructure.

It takes time. And money, actually.

But these guys get to talk with me on the phone, develop a great business relationship, and get very fast feedback on their sand quality.

It’s how I operate my lab.

You could send your sand in to the larger players, and get to deal with the large, faceless lab.

You’ll get your results, but they will take more time, and there will be little to no business relationship built with the person testing your sand.

Heck, it may even cost more money too (I’m actually quite affordable due to low overhead).

Anyway, these sand explorers that I’m talking about called in the Global Energy Labs cavalry.

We might not have all the firepower of the big labs, but we know your name, and develop a close relationship with you that benefits all.

We fight along side with you in the trenches.

And, we do it without breaking the budget.

You can use your “bugle,” and call the boys in by e-mailing us.
