Growing up in the 1980s and 1990s, I read many a “Choose Your Own Adventure” book.
These were small white books that had choices for the reader sprinkled throughout the book.
For instance, you might have the following choices a short time into the book:
“To open the red door, turn to page 50.”
“To open the blue door, turn to page 60.”
“To run away, turn to page 65.”
These books were fun, but the best (and fastest) way to read the books was to use your fingers to keep your place back at the last choice, hah.
Then, if you opened the wrong door, and fell into quicksand and died, you could go back, open the other door, and hopefully find your way home.
Speaking of home, I think my folks might have my choose your own adventure books in the bookshelf back in the old hometown.
Next time I’m there, I might have to look for them and steal them back!
But I digest…
These books were good ways to pass the time in the pre-internet/smart phone days, and judging by the fact that they printed dozens and dozens of different titles, they must have been quite popular.
In frac sand testing, there are lots of choices to make.
Where to sample.
How to sample.
How much sand to sample.
What tests to run.
How to interpret the tests.
Lucky for you, I’m the guide that can help you make those decisions.
You don’t have to keep your “fingers in the book” marking your place. I’ll take care of all that.
You will have to make some decisions, of course.
For instance, I have different “packages” of testing services.
I can walk you through the pros and cons of each one.
Ultimately, you decide which package fits your budget and goals. Then, we “open the book” and start testing your sand.
Odds are that the adventure will end up with sand that is not high enough quality to be used for hydraulic fracturing.
(I’m always completely honest with you.)
But maybe – just maybe – we will end up at the end of the adventure with you having frac sand!
Either way, it will be an adventure for the both of us.
