I remember grandma’s kitchen.
Countertops were always clean, dish drying rack was full of clean dishes, and a red-and-white striped cleaning rag was folded neatly near the sink faucet handle.
Grandma’s living room always had an afghan blanket, folded on the end of the couch.
Her cat was curled up on the floor in the sunshine.
Everything had its place. Grandma’s house was clean yet comfortable.
Her lesson to us was “clean as you go.” This meant that as you were cooking in the kitchen, you cleaned during the short waiting periods.
We are constantly cleaning here at Global Energy Labs.
We take it even to a higher extreme than grandma ever did.
With my background in Uncle Sam’s nuclear powered Navy, I hold our lab to the cleanliness standards of the small nuclear lab that was onboard, called nucleonics.
In nucleonics, everything was stainless steel, and it was expected to be spotless unless you had an actual test going on.
The test was conducted in an orderly manner, and then once it was done and the paperwork was complete, the lab was cleaned to perfection.
Here at Global Energy Labs, we get downright crazy about cleaning.
No sand is allowed to be on the countertop.
Each sample in its own controlled and labeled containers.
Sieves and test equipment are cleaned with a vengeance after each use.
We clean as we go. And at the end of the day, we clean again.
I’ve been in a proppant lab where cleanliness was not taken to the neurotic level at which we operate.
It always made me nervous when I looked around that lab, and wondered how they kept the multiple samples straight for each client. I also wondered how they kept samples separate from each other.
There was proppant on the countertops.
Proppant on the ground.
Gave me a case of the heebie-jeebies just to see all the opportunities for contamination.
Anyway, it’s one of the benefits for our clients – knowing that their proppant samples are treated like the holy sacrament, with regard to care and storage.
It gives you a nice peace of mind.
Just like you had at grandma’s house.
