drilling grade barite

Look out for those open elevator shafts

“Why do my eyes hurt?”

“Because you’ve never used them before.”

— The Matrix

As you probably know, the Winter Olympics are going on right now over in Sochi, Russia.

Reading the reports from the athletes and journalists, Sochi was somewhat unprepared for the games.

Apparently they did like $53 billion in construction, so it’s natural that maybe some of the jobs were rushed to be done in time for the games.

The other morning, a British bobsledder was heading out from her hotel room to get ready for her race.

She left her room and walked down the hallway to take the elevator down.

She’s an Olympic athlete – maybe she should take the stairs down to warm up? Ha

Anyway, she goes to the elevator, to push the down button.

Except the elevator door is already open.

To an empty elevator shaft.

Nice.

drilling grade barite testingShows you that only you can truly look out for yourself.

Keep your eyes peeled for things that can hurt you.

You also need to be aware of ways to profit in fast moving industries.

Frac sand is one of those interesting industries where there are lots of ways to make $.

But sometimes you need to also be aware for related opportunities.

For instance, drilling grade barite is used to “weigh down” hydraulic fracturing fluid, and increase its density.

Sure, there isn’t as much barite used to fracture a well as frac sand, but it’s still a hot commodity.

And, the mineral is fairly rare in the US, meaning that much of the barite gets shipped in, and it’s of inferior quality.

I’ve branched my lab into providing API testing for drilling grade barite. My chemist is working on a couple samples right now, actually.

Find some barite, and I’ll put together a testing package for you, and even link you up with folks that can bring it to market, if you have “the right stuff.”

Keep your eye out for open elevator shafts — and opportunities –- as you never know when either might show up!
