frac sand testing frac sand fortunes

What I told my wife on the couch

I said, “The first olive out of the jar is the hardest.”

Ok, I should probably rewind the story a bit, right!?

My wife was sitting on the couch the other day, watching House Hunters International, or something like it.

I came storming in and told her how I just made the first sale of a new product that I created (I have multiple online businesses).

In order to tell my story, I needed to have her full attention, so I stood between her and the tv, of course.

For a couple weeks, I had been trying different tactics and means of selling this product.

It’s tough work getting the first sale for something!

After that, it seems to get easier, because you’ve finally “cracked the code” for that particular product and market.

I told her about how much the product will make, and how hard it was to get the first sale, but now I had it.

I said, “the first olive out of the jar is the hardest.”

It’s a great analogy to the first sale. That darn thing just won’t come out. Then, when you are about ready to just break the jar, you get it.

That’s why in Frac Sand Fortunes, I am always going to badger whoever I’m talking to about how they made that first sale.

frac sand major industriesWith Josh Rodriguez, featured in the February edition of Frac Sand Fortunes, I asked him, “how did you sell that first grain of sand?”

Then he answered, and I performed some relentless follow up to really paint a picture of “how to” get that first client and customer in the frac sand marketing biz.

Then he went on to explain how he grew the business from that one client, and continues to grow today.

His business is operated from Texas, with an exclusive agreement with a mine in Wisconsin. His business is really a laptop and cell phone, without any hassle of employees.

Quite a model business, in my humble (but shockingly accurate) opinion.

And he explains how he built it all, in the February issue of Frac Sand Fortunes. which is about to go the printer in a few days.

It’s expensive, but it’s an investment. And, it’s probably tax deductible (check with your tax advisor).
